Mother's Closing - AUG - Pre and Postpartum Mothers' Circle

This month we will be holding a Mother's Closing.  This is a special event that I intend to offer three times a year for the mothers in our community. See details below:

Many  cultures around the world practice forms  of celebrating the mother  after she has given birth to her child. The  most well known ritual in  birthwork circles is the closing of the bones  ceremony practiced in  Mexico. In North America, we tend to celebrate the  child’s arrival  and  forget the mother. This community celebration aims to bring back   Mother honouring in our communities in a way that is pertinent to our   culture and time. The idea of “closing” speaks to the mother opening her   body and spirit to bring the baby on Earth. As a community we will   honour and bless her. Mother's will have an opportunity to share about  their journey within a loving container. We will pray that she be  closed, healed and whole  and thank her for the work she is doing and  will do in raising the child. The feeling afterwards is of fullness,  nourishment and groundedness on all levels. This can be done anytime  after birth, even if your child is a grown adult! Birthworkers wanting  to learn the ceremony are also welcome to attend. We will explore group  energy healing, group intention and mother honouring  together.

9:30am pregnant mamas (checking in and guided meditation) 

10:15am mums and babes joining in Circle will close around 12pm (WE WILL DO THE CLOSING HERE)

Welcome to stay until 12:30pm (you can leave when you need to)

Join us for community, song, meditation and motherhood support. 

You will find support for sovereign birth both within and outside the system. This is a group that includes questioning of the status quo including gov mandates, birth policies, etc.  

Song, dance and prayer are likely though you do not have to participate

Babes are welcome, though it could be best if busy toddlers can stay home.
