My path in this work began eleven years ago in Montreal, supporting refugee women as a birth doula and volunteering with La Leche League as a breastfeeding support leader. The work has always been rooted in presence, care, and the belief that holding space for mothers and children matters deeply.
In those early years, I was looking for work that felt impactful and filled my heart. I found it on this path. Now, the question is how to sustain it — how to balance my own needs, the needs of my family, and the needs of the community.
Since moving to Collingwood, that calling has deepened — through community gatherings, circles, festivals, and ongoing support for homeschooling and new parents. During COVID, when many families felt isolated, these offerings became places of warmth and stability. It wasn’t about having all the answers, but about ensuring our children felt held, and mothers knew they weren’t alone.
🌿 Rooted in Care, Guided by Intuition
Over the past five years in Collingwood, I’ve served the homeschooling community, supported new mothers, and created spaces of creativity and connection — both in-person and online. Many of these offerings have been free or low-cost, to keep them accessible.
This has always been intentional. I believe in the business of Love and Universal Energy — of which money is only one part. One dollar doesn’t mean the same thing to every household, and I remain deeply sensitive to that. Intuition guides much of this work, and I’ve allowed it to unfold slowly and organically, outside of rigid formulas or mainstream business models.
Despite what business gurus say, charging more isn’t the only way to “value yourself.” I believe in building structures that are generous, reciprocal, and spiritually aligned. I want to protect my family’s well-being within those principles — trusting that what we give returns to us in many forms: blessings, strengthened relationships, and a deeper sense of purpose.

🌀 The Cost of Holding a Vision
This kind of work doesn’t always show up on spreadsheets — but it’s real, and it matters. It takes energy to dream, to create, to hold a vision. It takes faith to keep going when you’re unsure how it will be received.
Countless hours have gone into planning, organizing, promoting, facilitating, networking, and holding space — from local potlucks to festivals to support circles and more.
I’ve been diving deep into Sacred Economics, learning to walk the edge between generous service and sustainable living. This path doesn’t always fit conventional ideas of “success,” but it feels honest and aligned.
✨ How You Can Support This Work
If you have:
Attended a festival or circle
Gained insight from my podcast
Received support in our online mothers' group
Felt nourished by something I have offered
…then you’ve already been part of this vision, thank you
And thank you to those who have made donations in the past — your generosity has made a real difference for our family. These offerings have helped with everything from groceries to the rug in our living room, which now makes our gathering space feel warmer and more inviting. Your support has been felt and appreciated deeply.
If you feel called to support the continuation of the work, here are a few simple ways:
🏆 1. Nominate Me for the Unsung Hero Award
I’m applying for the Unsung Hero category in the Collingwood Community Builders Awards. This award honours those quietly making a difference in their communities.

🌱 The Dream Going Forward
I envision a future filled with:
Children’s and mothers’ intentional circles
Homeschool support
Seasonal family festivals rooted in beauty and belonging
Classes and offerings from a number of local wise women aligned with soul, nature, and freedom
A strong web of conscious families co-creating a new culture
I’m designed for leadership and vision...but I can’t (and don’t want to) do it alone. I look forward to deeper collaboration — with those who feel called to co-create something beautiful and sustainable.
Let’s build the village we crave — together.
With deep love and thanks,
Emilie
