Dear QHHT community,
Happy New Year to you all. I don’t know about you, but I feel quite relieved to say goodbye to 2025. It was a tender and intense year for many. In our community there were deaths (my beloved grandmother, Mimi, transitioned from this world in November), accidents, mental health crises — and also new babies, new pets, new adventures. A year where things came to a head and consequences, both joyful and painful, were faced.
Numerologically, 2025 was a 9 year (2+0+2+5=9) — the number of endings, death, and transformation. In Chinese astrology, it was also the Year of the Snake, symbol of shedding skin and rebirth. Nothing is ever truly lost — only transformed — yet the process can be deeply uncomfortable.
As someone born in 1989, a 9 year and a Snake year, this cycle hit close to home. I shed a significant layer and feel myself stepping more confidently into my roles and purpose.
A Chrysalis Season
This Fall was a time of deep rest and transformation. A Chrysalis season. And I now find myself emerging as a butterfly this winter. It seems the timing is a little off - there are no butterflies to be seen at this time! - but I am accompanied in this winter blooming by some of my houseplants like Christmas Cactus, Amaryllis and Orchid. They are living reminders that transformation doesn’t always follow the expected season.
What I experienced in September and October could easily be labeled “depression,” and that would not be wrong. My mind went quiet. My body needed profound rest after two years of giving so much to family and community with little space for recovery. Burnout.
I won’t go into detail here, but I am open to one-on-one conversations if anyone feels called to reach out. One day, I hope to write about these transformational passages. I believe much of what we call “mental health” is also spiritual transformation, and our culture lacks meaningful ways to support people through these powerful inner winters. As painful as they are, they hold immense potential for rebirth.
I also feel that those who are called to support others — healers, guides, space-holders, mothers, teachers — are continually invited into their own healing journeys and must 'walk the walk'. This path asks us to be willing to meet ourselves fully: to enter the darker waters, to feel what needs to be felt, to release what is ready to fall away, and to emerge again renewed. Life itself is an ever-unfolding process of becoming if we allow ourselves to grow through the seasons. It can be too easy to resist and stay stuck. I trust that moving through these passages is part of what will allow me to hold others with greater compassion, depth, and steadiness.
I came through this season into a place of strength, clarity, joy, and inner stillness thanks to several supports:
Loved ones — friends, family, and my partner showed up in beautiful ways. The love I pour out returned when I needed it most.
Microdosing psilocybin — following Paul Stamets’ protocol (one capsule every three days for six weeks), which profoundly supported my heart and nervous system. *This is not medical advice, do your own research before working with this Medicine.
Therapy — a steady outside mirror during turbulent waters.
PEMF and light therapy — more on this below.
A new work and family rhythm — stepping away from 24/7 homeschooling and mothering allowed dormant parts of me to reawaken.
A New Family Rhythm
Our family has decided to enroll our two older girls in school. This is a significant transition for all of us, as they have been homeschooled for most of their lives. We feel this change will bring more breathing room for our family — space to focus on work, home life, and new rhythms. We trust that our girls are ready and will learn a great deal from this experience. For now, we’re taking it one year at a time, staying open to what feels right as we go.
My Work with Health Wellness Industries
This summer I began working as a clinic technician with Health Wellness Industries, a company providing PEMF mats, rife technology, infrared light therapy, and other medical-grade wellness tools. Our clinic has recently moved from Wasaga Beach to Collingwood, offering local access to these technologies.
This work has been a true blessing. The PEMF and light therapies supported my nervous system through my chrysalis season and helped me access a level of inner stillness I’ve never known before.
As a mechanical engineering graduate, I’m loving learning the physics and science behind these technologies — a surprising and satisfying bridge between my past education and my present path.
I believe this technology could be especially supportive for postpartum mothers and mothers in general. At the moment, most of our clientele are retirees, people recovering from serious injuries (PEMF mats have been shown to speed bone healing by up to 30%!), or individuals with chronic or serious illness who are exploring alternative options as a last resort. While I’m grateful to support these clients, I feel strongly that this technology also belongs in the realm of prevention — supporting young professionals, parents, and families before health challenges arise.
We offer a free first session for all new clients. If you’re curious, reply to this email and I’ll share details. We’ll also be hosting a clinic open house this spring — more soon.
QHHT Developments
The new year brings fresh momentum in my QHHT path. I’ve enrolled in Level 2 training, learning further from Dolores Cannon’s original recorded teachings. I’m also working toward Level 3 certification, which requires 125 completed sessions. After ten years of practice, I have about 50 more sessions to go to reach this milestone.
I continue offering sessions on Mondays and Fridays.
Since I now have a PEMF mat of my own, I’m exploring the possibility of integrating it into QHHT sessions to support deeper relaxation. The mat includes brainwave frequency programs such as delta, theta, and alpha, which have been shown to help harmonize brain activity and support the nervous system. These programs are currently being used to assist with anxiety, depression, nervous system regulation, and even in children on the autism spectrum. I’m curious to explore how this technology might help clients settle more easily into receptive states and support an even more profound session experience. If you feel called to try this combination, let me know.
Additionally, I’ll be leading a free Group QHHT Experience at the Collingwood Library on February 26, 2026. I’m very much looking forward to gathering in person again.
Community Work
My community offerings have been on pause as I rest and settle into new work rhythms. But this remains close to my heart. I plan to collaborate more with other women leaders so events can continue sustainably. A big thank you to Deslee for continuing the toddler group.
Stay tuned for gatherings this year:
• Women’s song and prayer circles
• Pre/postnatal circles
• Toddler group
• Teen girls circle
• Seasonal festivals
I also plan to release some of the French Waldorf-style children’s videos I created a few years ago. Here’s the first — La Mitaine — which you may enjoy with your little ones.
What’s Inspiring Me Lately
Reading
• Astral Experiences — Jason Quitt In this very accessible and short read, Jason shares his experiences with sleep paralysis, entities, nighttime spirit visitations, and spontaneous astral travel. I find his writing humble, grounded, and practical. It resonated deeply with my own curiosity about consciousness and the unseen worlds. Jason is also local to Barrie, so I’m hoping to invite him for a workshop in our area one day. Here is a podcast interview with Jason that is a good summary of the book, also available on Spotify
• Proof of Heaven — Eben Alexander
This book tells the story of a neurosurgeon who experiences a rare and severe case of bacterial meningitis. He survives a seven-day coma that should have left him brain-dead. During that time, he experiences other realms of existence and encounters a field of unconditional love beyond anything he had known. His account is both moving and surprisingly scientific, bridging medicine and mysticism in a beautiful way.
• Teachings on Vipassana Meditation — William Hart
During my more difficult moments this fall, I found myself finding solid ground in Buddhist teachings. This book has been a steady companion. I feel called to attend a 10-day silent Vipassana retreat at our local center this year. We’ll see if it’s in the cards! If any of you have experienced a retreat like this, I’d love to hear about it.
Currently reading
• Only Love Is Real — Brian Weiss
A tender and fascinating exploration of soul connections across lifetimes.
• A Hypnotist’s Journey to the Sphinx — Sarah Breskman Cosme
A hypnotist follows threads of regression work all the way to ancient Egypt. A mix of mystery, historical curiosity, and consciousness exploration.
Listening
I go through phases of craving French music — French being my mother tongue. These songs have been on repeat lately:
• Johnny Hallyday — L’envie and Je te promets
• Patrick Bruel — Origami
And when I need deep rest from the movement of family life, I sometimes lie in a dark room and listen to medieval chants like:
• Hildegard von Bingen — Spiritus Sanctus Vivificans
Hildegard wrote this music almost a thousand years ago. Isn’t it incredible that sound can travel across centuries and still touch the human heart? She was a mystic, healer, composer, and visionary — truly a female powerhouse of the Middle Ages.
Drinking
Fresh, vibrant herbal teas from Heartfull Herbals — deeply nourishing allies through winter.
Closing
We now enter the final moon cycle of the Year of the Snake, before the Year of the Horse begins on February 17. A last invitation for shedding. The more gently we release what no longer serves, the less we suffer in the letting go.
Bless you on your human journey. You are doing great!
